; Wallace Park in Salem is pegged
among -facilities which have con
tributed to a greater pleasure boat
ing potential along the Willamette
River according to the State High
' way Department.
; The Parks Division of the de
partment recently completed sur
veys of boating facilities in the
state in recognition of greatly in
creased interest in boating through
out Oregon and the nation. - -
T Wallace Marine Park here was
among seven boating access sites
surveyed in various parts of the
State. Another survey studied
ten boating access sites between
Salem and Wilaonville on the Wil
lamette River. These included
S pongs Landing and the Wheatland
ferry crossing.
: Particular concentration was
made on the Willamette River in
the surveys because "it flows
through the heart of the Willamette
galley in the most heavily populat
ed section of the state."
