The report is that it will be can
celled, which comes as no par
ticular surprise. The surprise
lies in the fact that the sponsor
apparently has its eye on a newly-acquired
NBC property, "Queen
For a Day," which has been a
daytime radio staple since the
memory of man runneth to the
contrary.
For a show like "Queen For a
Day" even to be considered as
a prospect for the 8-to-9 p.m.
Sunday spot on a major network
smacks of revolution. Yet it is a
logical extension of the NBC
thinking which has built its day
time programming around such
shows as "Today,-"Home" and
"Matinee Theater." . With such
programs occupying the daylight
hours so long devoted to the
soap operas, there is only - one
place for the soap operas to go
right into the nighttime hours.
For there is no denying ' that
"Queen For a'Day'V is built of
