type cars, engineering advances
and safety innovations and im

officials as outstanding features in
Studebaker passenger cars for
1956.
They will be shown Nov. 22 by
dealers including Bonesteele's of
Salem, Ore.
Public introductions will feature
sedans and station wagons in the
full President V8, Commander V8
and Champion six series. Detailed
announcement of the new line of
high-powered sports-type cars is
scheduled later.

Studebaker - Packard Corporation,
said the new cars represent the

The new Studebakers are de
clared to have greater room in
side, with trunk room increased
by 20 per cent The new design
is described as a basic advance
within auto industry trends at the
same time to heighten Snide
baker's reputation as postwar
automotive style leader.
Mechanical innovations Include
an advanced automatic transmis
sion the new Flightomatic;
special "safety-fin" brakes that
are declared to increase brake-
drum cooling by 100 per, cent to
maintain non-fade efficiency when
heavily used, and a new concept
in speed indicators a color-
lighted "safety-eye" speedometer.
Studebaker's new lines include
16 models 12 in the sedan and
station wagon series, and four in
the volume-produced sports-type
group.
Five Firemen
Hurt in Blaze
LOS ANGELES (AP)-Five fire
men were injured Tuesday while
fighting a blaze that destroyed a
two-story building housing a dye
works and a box factory.
The loss was estimated at more
than a half million dollars.
Three of the five injured firemen
plunged to the ground floor when
the second story collapsed.
