Lacey taught school in the Fir Grove and Cherry Grove schools 60 years ago and this was his first trip back. He was a member of the graduating class of the normal school at Monmouth in 1S93. Casuiereial Salt Creek The regular meet ing of the Women's Missionary So ciety of the Salt Creek Baptist church has been postponed from the'llth to the 23th of October be cause of prune harvest. At 8 p.m. oa the latter date, the Rev. and Mrs. Oemeoce Auch of Tokyo, Ja pan will be honored. Mrs. Auch is the former Sylvia Reischke of Sa lem. Members of the Women's Missionary Society of the Bethel Baptist Church of Salem also are invited. Falla City Evangelist W. E. Strain will conduct special serv ices Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Falls City Christian Church. In cluded in the one hour meeting will be 300 Bible verses quoted from memory and a musical inter lude. Evangelist Stram is a recent president of the South Dakota Christian Bible College who re signed and is now making his . home in Salem. . As a child he lived in Falls City and Mrs. Richard Paul, who still lives here, was his first Sunday School teacher. Sunday at 7:30 p.m. the Rev. Carl Zerrung. a missionary to Alaska, will be the featured speaker. His speaking will fnd a day devoted to the study of foreign missions. Woodbarn Eight students of Woodburn High - School attended the cheer leaders clinic at Molalla Union High School Monday. They were part of the yell sessions and took in movies on yell techniques. Present were Donald Hall. Gene Higgens, Kathryn Thompson, Ag nes Dansky, Shannon Blomberg, yell leaders; and Ruth Applegate, Joann Barry, and Peggy Scbuh, song leaders. MUSUND Ot WMI MII nSMflOYSP IT eaten "Tim - Ga Dickinson Wolf er Case Dismissed Statesaaaa Mews Bcrvtc DALLAS A forcible entry d detainer action brought by Mrs. Lenora Dickinson against Russell aod Irene Wolfer was thrown but of Polk County Cir cuit Court this week by Judge Val Sloper. Judge Sloper replaced Judge Arlie G.; Walker in hearing the case which was deliberated with out a jijry. In making his decision, how ever, the judge allowed $300 to the plaintiff for back rent al legedly jdue for use of beauty shop equipment by the Wolfer. According to testimony, the de fendants in 1952 leased .equip ment from Mrs. Dickinson, for mer operator of Sally's Beauty Shop, for the period of one year. The defendants claimed they notified the plaintiff to remove the equipment from the shop at the end, of. the lease period and subsequently ceased the rental payments. The real property was leased by Mr. and Mrs. Wolfer from Williams Investment Co. The case was first heard in the West Salem justice court of Elmer Cook, who ruled in favor of the defendants. It was ap pealed to circuit court by Mrs. Dickinson. The second prize, for the freak set of horns, will be an ice chest and the third prize, for the smallest set of horns, is a sleeping bag. . The 27th of this month is the final meeting during the derby. Horns to be considered must be brought to the meeting and be attached to solid skull. . Only this year's horns can be entered. Tickets must be purchas ed frorrt any member of the club prior to hunting.
