Singing leading roles in Pentacle Theater's "Girl Crazy"

Gershwin musical opens Friday, August 26, at the Pentacle

fringes of hurricane Diane, where
trees were uprooted and the rain
was a deluge, and prevented from
visiting Mrs. Brant's former home
at Gloucester, Mass., by the polio
epidemic,' were just a few of their

The wedding ' of Miss Muriel
French, and Lewis Kurpjuweit, of
Los Angeles was solemnized at St.
Joseph's Catholic Church Sunday
afternoon by the Rev. Joseph Van
derbeck. The bride is the daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur A.
French of Salem, and the groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frede
rick Kurpjuweit of Nampa, Idaho.
Mrs. Raymond Barton played the
organ and vocalists were Miss Lor
raine Melke and Verne Esch.
The bride wore a floor length
gown of white nylon net and satin
with lilies of the valleys at the
neck, and made with a tiered skirt.
The fingertip , veil was arranged
from a crown of rhinestones and
pearls. The cascade bouquet was
of white gladioluses centered with
an orchid.
Matron of honor was Mrs. Dave
Anderson who wore a gown of pink
nylon over taffeta and a picture
hat. She carried pink and white
gladioulses.. Mrs. Conrad Booze,
the bridesmaid was gowned like
the matron of honor, but in powder
blue.
Flower girl Colleen Trench, sis
ter of the bride, was in blue.
Best man was the groom's broth
er, Julius Kurpjuweit and ushers
were Leonard D. French and Gene
Owings. uncles of the bride. Dale
Kurpjuweit was groomsman.
Mother of the bride was dressed
in navy blue, trimmed in white
with matching accessories. Her
corsage was of pink and white
roses.
The groom's mother wore a navy
blue gown with white trim and navy
accessories.
During the reception which was
held at the ' home of the bride's
parents on North River Road,
Mrs. Gene Owings and Miss Der
lene Stabb poured, Mrs. Verle Dix
on cut the cake and Mrs. Edward
Pagote, Mrs. Stanley Vistica, Mrs.
Leonard French, aunt' of the bride,
Mrs. Ed Wichman and Miss Loreen
French assisted. i
For going away, the bride wore
a brown fall suit with white linen
accessories and a white orchid.
Following a trip east and south,
the couple will live in Los Angeles
where the groom is employed at
the Atomic Research Commission
and the bride at the Citizens Na
tional. Bank.
