Miss Charlene Kefr Married
At St. Vincent's Saturday
Mis Charlene Marie Kerr became the bride of Carl Wilfred
'Weathers t a beautiful ceremony Saturday morning at St Vincent
dePaul Church. The bride is the daughter of Mr., and Mrs. Ray
Kerr and the brideeroom is the ion of Mr. and Mr Wilfred
Weathen. ; .-. '
The Rev. John Reedy performed the 10 o'clock nuptial mass

and Mary Kreft sang and Mrs.
Meusey played the organ accom
paniments. Of imported Chantilly lace and
nylon tulle was the bridal gown,
fashioned with a fitted, lace bo
dice and Peter Pan collar sprin
kled with aeed pearls. The bouf
fant skirt ended in a chapel train
with ruffled tiers of lace in back
and panels of the lace and pleated,
nylon, tulle down the front of the
skirt. Her fingertip illusion veil
was caught to a Juliet cap out
lined in seed pearls. 'She carried
a cascade of white roses centered
with a white orchid combined with
pink net.
Atteadaats Wear Pink
Three attendants preceded the
bride to the altar. Miss Rosalie
Kerr, her sister's honor maid, Miss
Betty Thompson and Miss Marne
Christensen, the bridesmaids. They
wore identical shell pink frocks
with lace bodices, sweetheart neck-

length skirts. They carried cas
cades of American Beauty roses

Donald Weathers atood with his
brother, as best man and seating
the guests were Ray Greene and
Robert Hammack, brother-in-law
of the bridegroom. The altar boys
were Denis Van deWiele and Terry
Kirk, cousins of the bride.
For her daughter's nuptials Mrs.
Kerr chose a steel grey lace gown
over pink taffeta to which he pin
ned a spray of pink orchid. Mrs.
Weathers wore a twoiece grey
lace gown over pink and ber flow
ers were, pink apray orchids.
A Gardes Reception
The newly-weds greeted their
meats at a racentkn in th gar
den at the country home of the
bride' parents. Pouring, were
lira. K. P. Smith, aunt .of the
bride, and Mrs. V, O. Weathers,
the bridegroom's aunt.. Mrs. Frank
Kerr cut her nieca'a wedding cake.
Assisting were Mrs. Cart Smith,
Mrs. John Smith. Mrs. Jack Mc
Ckire, aunt of the groom. Mrs.
Lester Kirk, Mrs. Fred Viesko,
Mrs. Laueren Hilton, Miss Sharon
Kirk and Miss Carol Smith.
When the couple left on their
wedding trip to Canada the new
Mrs. Weathers was wearing a pink
Joan Traviss
To Marry in
October
Wedding bells will ring on Satur
day, October 1 for Miss Joan Tra
vise and Edward R. Uemann,
whose engagement was announced
the past year. The bride-elect is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. law
re nee F. Traviss and her fiance is
the son of fin. George Hemann.
The ceremony will take place at
St Vincent dePaul Catholic Church
at a, 11. o'clock nuptial mass with
a reception following at the Amer
ican Legion Club.
Miss Traviss is a medical secre
tary for Dr. Sidney C. Stenerodden
and Mr. Hemann is with J. C. Pen
ney Co.
Farewell Party
For Mrs. Ames
Mrs. Florence Ames, who re
tired from ber position with the
State Motor Vehicle Department
Friday after 18 years of service,
was honored at a noon luncheon
in the state house coffee shop.
Secretary of State Earl T. New
bry presented Mrs. Ames with a
gift from her many co-workers.

The Sunshine Circle of the
West Salem Methodist Church
has been Invited to meet with
