Processing
Asparagus
Paulus Bros. Cannery, S. 14th
and Oxford street, is engaged in
processing a pack of asparagus for
the first time in several years.
The asparagus comes here from
Walla Walla. Wash. The plant
doesn t handle local production be
cause of small yields.
Meanwhile, plant officials state
that cherries appear to top the
list of "bright" prospects for
valley fruit production and that
strawberries probably will be the
first major item to be processed,
but later than a year ago.
