There will be a short business meeting for the purpose of electing officers for the com ing year.: The tea hour will fol low the meeting,, and will con tinue until 4 p.m. - i 1 v The Oregon Ceramic Studio of i Portland will present an art ex hibit, the theme to be "Good De sign in Creative Art" . Oregon Ceramic Studio, or ganized in 1937, operates a con temporary craft gallery situated at 3934 Southwest Corbett Ave nue, Portland. It is a non-profit making . corporation maintained by colunteer workers in the in terest of 1 promoting high stand ards of design and workmanship among the creative craftsmen in Oregon and the Northwest The gallery is open to the pub lic six days a week from 11 to 5, without charge, for the exhibition and sale of juried work, and for the sale of ceramic and weaving supplies. The studio is interested In fine creative contemporary work in the crafts, such as sculp ture, pottery, weaving, jewelry, and drawings, paintings, photo graphs when allied to the craft work being shown. - Exhibitions are a part of the studio's educational program. Work considered is usually by Oregon or Northwest craftsmen or by nationally known artists in the. field whose traveling exhibits have been .requested. Hostesses for the afternoon will be Mrs. Robert Corey, Mrs. Robert U Turner, Mrs. Myron Pogue, and Mrs. S. V. Leek. Dec orations will be arranged by Mrs. Douglas Freeburn. Miss ' Nancy Moorefield; who will be married to. Milton Earl Schultz of Bend on Friday, May 27, is announcing plans for her wedding this weekend. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boniface J. Cleary and her fiance is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Schultz of Bend. The ceremony will take place at the First Presbyterian Church with a reception following in the church parlors. Sessions will be held at the .Pres byterian Church from Monday through Wednesday . noon. Mrs Wendell LJVan Loan of Corvallis is the state president and Mrs Robert L. Elfstrom of Salem, the first vice-president. T..e convention will open with a tea and a past presidents dinner today with business sessions slated for Monday and Tuesday. The BIL dinner will be Tuesday evening. A highlight of the convention will be the educational hour Monday night with Mrs. Robert L. Elfstrom in charge. 'Awards of 8 scholar ships to Oregon girls who will at tend Cottey College next year will be announced during the education al hour. Announcement will also be made of the four recipients of the scholarships ; offered by PEO for use in Oregon colleges or universi ties next year. The featured speaker on the edu cational program will be Miss In caf Abidir of Cairo, Egypt, a grad uate of Presbyterian College for women in Cairo. She is studying for her master's degree at Oregon State College under the sisterhood's latest project, the international peace scholarship program. Mrs. Forrest Lemm of Salem will give a reading during the evening's pro gram. Honor guest for the convention will be Miss Ruth G. White, M.D., of Whittier, California, correspond ing secretary of the supreme chap ter of PEO. 2 The following delegates from the Salem PEO chapters planning to attend the convention are Mrs. G W. General Meeting WSGS The general meeting of the West Salem WSCS will be held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Herman Kortemeyer.
