' . - Ruth Duggan Wins Yamhffl IOOF Contest Statesman News Service WILLAMINA Ruth Duggan of McMinnville, formerly of Willa mina, is one of 14 high school stu- dents who received top honors in the IOOF and Rebekah Lodge sixth annual United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth.. She will make a tour of the United Nations this summer. Ruth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Duggan of McMinn ville. Mrs. Duggan is a teacher at the Willamina elementary school. ' i Miss Duggan won the McMinn ville High School contest on her essay entitled "What the United Nations Means to Me." Other fac tors considered were character. leadership, contribution to her community, welfare, scholarship, interest in church or Sunday School activities, and general fit ness for and cooperation with the entire' project. . : Miss Duggan will leave about July 5. and go through Washington and British Columbia, to pick up winning students in that area. The group will then go across Canada to Ottawa,, where! they will visit parliament, and then on to New York. They will return about Aug ust 3. Rainbow Girls . Will Sponsor ?
