Purpose of the All-Campus Drive

ternational Christian University
Foundation, Fund for Negro Stu
dents. Red Cross, Oregon Crippled
Children. Society, and the polio
fund. '
Friday wiH be Harold T Nelson,
regional director of the bureau of
reclamation at Boise. '
Nelson will be in Dallas Friday
to take; part in- the annual Polk
wouniy water s meeting cpwuorea
by the Wulamette River Basin
Committee and the Polk 'County
Extension Service.
The water meeting will be from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pythian Hall
with R. M. Walker of Independence
serving as chairman.

NORTH HOWELL Mrs. Louisa
Johnson, who was born Jan. 16,
1865, at Penoria, Iowa, and .came
U Marion county, the same ear,
celebrated her 90th birthday Sun
day at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Amy Beer, where- family
dinner was gives in her honor.
- Mrs. Johnson's parents. Sarah
and Andrew Brumbaugh, and their
six children crossed the plains with
an ox team during the spring and
summer of .1865 and reached the
Haael Green district that fall
where they took up a homestead
and spent the rest of . their lives.
-: Mrs. Johnson lived, in the old
home until 17 years ago. when she
moved to a small house near her
daughter, Mrs. Beer. In . North
HowslL' One of her cherished pos
sessions is the ' little chair with
rawhide seat in which her mother
sat and held her .while riding in
the covered wagon.

named to the cemetery board and

has been named organist for 1955

The treasurer's report showed
that total receipts for 1954 were
$19,341.

one-year. jail sentences here
Thursday when they pleaded guilty
to charges of lewd cohabitation.
Sentence was meted in Justice
Court by Judge Kenneth Shetter-
ly who placed them on probation
