plant was built at a cost of 15 million dollars.
Tht new jet to bt known as tht Stratolintr In its commercial version and as
tKt Stratotanker in tht military is now undergoing intensive test flights at Seattle.
The plane has already attained speeds over 600 miles per hour, has climbed to
more than 42,000 feet. As an airliner, the 707 will transport from 80 to 130 passtn
gers, fly non-stop from New York to Los Angeles or San Francisco in less than
5 hours. As a stratotanker, it can refuel the U.S. Air Force's newest 60 0-mile s-per-hour
jet bombers and fighters, thereby greatly extending their "hitting" power.
It's faster than any current transport by more than 200 aiiles per hour. ;
