By GLORIA KATNU Teea-Age Program Director Christmas activity has consumed the interests ot the YWCA Y Teens, with the teen-agers working industriously on service and social projects for the holidays. Among the big events yet to come will be the annual "Hanging of the Greens" and the senior high "Sno- rBalL-. I ,4. Hanging of the Greens, decorat ing the YWCA in a festive way, will be done by the high school clubs on Wednesday evening, De cember 15 under the direction of the club service chairmen. Many girls, from different clubs, will work cooperatively to deco rate a large tree in the lobby, con struct a Santa Claus display on the fireplace and hang wreaths in the windows. Anne Guthrie Y-Teen group will sponsor again this year, the 'tSno BaD." a Christmas dance for senior high students in ,the YWCA. This dance will be presented on December 18 for all Y-Teens and their dates Junior high Y-Teens will be busy from now until Christmas with their wide range of activities which include making trays favors for the hospitals and donating food baskets and toys to needy families. All Y-Teeners are eagerly look ing forward to the evening they will be going Christmas caroling to the public and private institu tions in Salem. The groups will return to the YW or to private homes after I caroling to refresh themselves with hot chocolate and Christmas goodies. Brahms Michael Corcoran At the Gate of Heaven Serenade -Allen -Romberg Survey; Offered Girl Scouts The Santiam Council, Girl Scouts has received word that a new type of service, an organization survey, will be offered to the coun cil February: 21-March 2, 1955, ac cording to Miss Marjorie Johnson, executive secretary of the San tian Council; This survey will be conducted by Miss Marie Thebault from the Organization Division and the Community Advisor for the terri tory. They will work with the coun cil to study ways of improving the structure and methods of opera tion: - 1 The purpose of the survey is to help the council to gather and analyze facts about its organiza tion with the aim of making it more effective. The survey will not only help in planning, but will show what changes need to be made and will guide the council in the coming years. This survey will be conducted in various councils throughout the United States according to Miss Johnson and the Santiam Council was one of the few to be chosen.
