Polish seamen told British police
Thursday they "staged a "freedom
mutiny" on their trawler. They
beat up the political officer, locked
up the captain and other crewmen.
And sailed to this Yorkshire port

the Yorkshire coast, crews, of Brit
ish trawlers noticed it was flying
several weird signals. !
Police here questioned the seven,
who freely explained what they
had done. They said that, acting
under their first mate, they quick
ly seized control of the trawler as
it was lurching through the sea.
Airman Drowns
Near Depoe Bay
SEATTLE Ufl Coastguardsmen
helped rescue a Seattle man from
the surf near Depoe Bay, Ore.,
today but a companion was lost
Thirteenth district headquarters
here identified the rescued; man
as George Osburn of (1027 Belle
vue Court) Seattle. The Coast
Guard said the companion was an
Air Force man and bis name was
being withheld pending notification
of next of kin. ' i I
