Mr. arid Mrs. T. R. Hobart are
announcing the betrothal of their
daughter, Diana, to Phillip Ham
mond of Portland, ion of Dr. and
Mrs. P. M. Hammond of Boise,
Idaho. No date' has been set for
the wedding.
The bride-elect attended Wil
lamette University end the Uni
versity of Denver. She will re
ceive her degree next June.
Mr, Hammond is a graduate of
Willamette University and has
completed his master's degree.
He ia now a member of the facul
ty at Jefferson High School in
Portland.
Nursery School to
Expand Activities
The board of directors of the
Happytime Nursery School met
Monday night at the home of the
chairman, Mrs. 'Gordon Skinner.
The group decided to expand the
activities of the group to include
a kindergarten for the next year.

The descendants of Thomas and
Emetine Norton held their an
nual family reunion at the home
of Mr., and Mrs. Dennis Norton
in Woodburn. Over 80 family
members and their children at

of the state.

It is to be based on the same par
ent participation that was so sue
cessful in the nursery school pro
gram this past year.
The kindergarten will serve five
year old children, while the nurs
ery school is open to three- and
four-year olds. Mrs. Carlisle Rob
erts, acting chairman of the Kin
dergarten group, said the commit
tee is now looking for a suitable
teacher. Parents who are interest
ed in such a cooperative kinder
garten are invited to contact Mrs.
Roberts.

were Mrs. Gordon Skinner. Mrs.
Stanley Butler. Mrs. Robert Miller,
Mrs. Lloyd Hammeh and Mrs.
Richard Hill, members of the
board of directors, and Mrs. Car
lisle Roberts, representing the
kindergarten mothers.
Mr. and Mrs. Erich Latesch and
children, Rickie and Judy, have
returned from a 2H week trip
to Los Angeles. Their itinerary
included Reno, Las Vegas, Lake
Tahoe and the Redwoods. While
In Los Angeles Mr. Laetsch, at
tending the convention of the Na
tional Hairdressers and Cosmeto
logists Association, wis present
ed a framed resolution by the
outgoing president. They were
guests of Mrs. Laetsch's sister,
Mrs. John Lawrence, and broth
