- Police Chief Clyde A. Warren, whojdismissed the policeman,
told the commission he had asked Schwartz to give up his outside
emolovment as a night club sineer at the Blue Note on Dallas Road.

asking that the rule against out

them to work at canneries when

diate action on that, request or
another request, from Frank N.
Grimm of Armored Car Service,
that off-duty policemen be 'per
mitted to take part-time work
manning an armored car for late
night pickup and deposit of mon
ey irom some Salem businesses.

Salem resident, died in 1 Salem
hospital Tuesday and funeral ser
vices will take place at ML Angel
Thursday. .
Mertl was born April 29, 1923,
in Minnesota. He was married at
ML Angel eight years ago to Dor
othy Lough, .who survives. .".'

dren, Karen,: 6, and Connie. 2:
