Nuptials Held
McMINNVILLE Miss Ann Got
daughter of Mr. anc" Mrs. W. G.
Anderson o Coos Bay, and Lester
E. bachmann. son of Mr. and
Mrs. Alber Bachmann of McMinn
ville, were married June 13 at the
Jiome of the bridegroom. The Rev.
E. L. Wood of Carlton performed
the ceremony before members of
the family and a few friends.
The bride wore a pale blue net
over satin ballerina gown and car
ried a Bible topped with a white
orchid. Miss Gwendolyn Bach
mann, sister of the bridegroom,
was maid of honor, and wore a
ballerina gown of pale green net
and carried a pink carnation
nosegay.
George Bachmann, brother of
the bridegroom, was best man.
Brenda Bachmann. niece of the I
bridegroom, vas flower girl. Don i
Bachmann, a nephew, was ring j
bearer, and the bridegroom's
brothers, Alvin and George Bach
mann, lighted the candles.
A reception was held following
the ceremony. Mrs. Alvin Bach
mann cut the wedding cake, Mrs.
Francis LaughliL. sister of the
bridegroom, poured the punch,
end Mrs. George Bachmann,
poured the coffee. Mrs. Donald

bell (Roberta Schmalz)
who was married June 6
in Portland. The couple
will live in Woodburn,
where both are teachers.
Wright, sister of the bridegroom,
was in charge of the gifts.
For their wedding trip,4he
bride wore a grey suit and an
orchid corsage. They are now at
home in Coos Bay.

north with the Campbells this

Girl Scout Camp
Opens Sunday
The Girl Scout Camp located in
Silver Creek Falls Recreation
Area opens its first session June
27. The camp is now ready and
the councillors are there to start
their program.
There is a new session open for
Intermediate Scouts, or noncouts,
which is fifth graders and over.
This includes one two week ses
sion from July 19 to August 1st,
and two one week sessions start
ing July 19 to July 25 and from
July 26 to August 1.
There are still a few openings
in the session from August 17 to
August 23.
Those wishing a further infor
mation are asked to contact the
Girl Scouts Office, 444 Center
Street.
Mrs. Bigler Hostess
Mrs. Gerold Bigler entertained
members of Gamma Gamma
Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha
Monday evening. Mr. Thomas
Adolphson and Mrs. Thomas
Elliot were co-hostesses. Mrs.
Ronald Wiebe was appointed cor
responding secretary. Mrs. Orval
Schultze, Miss lone Persson and
Mjs. Wiebe presented the inter
esting educational program. The
next meeting will be July 12 at
the home of Mrs. Schultze.
96th Birthday for Mr. Harnar
PRATUM Mr. and Mrs. Wal
ter Coe held open house June 12
in honor of George Harnar, on his
96th birthday. He was born at Mt.
Pleasant, Mo., in 1858 and moved
his family to the Ozark region in
1883, where he took up a home
stead., Mr. and Mrs. Harnir cele-
i brated their 68th wedding anni-
versary before her death in 1949
! in Missouri.
Mr. Harnar then came west to
make his home with his grandson,
Claude Harnar, at Swegle. He
continues to make frequent visits
to his other children and grand
children in Oregon and Idaho.
There are 8 living children, the
oldest being 72 and the youngest
is 46. There are 49 grandchildren
and 98 great-grandchildren and 6
great-great-grandchildren.
Honoring Mr. Harnar on his
birthday were Mr. and Mrs.
Claude Harnar, Mary Lee and
Douglas. Mr. and' Mrs. Calvin
Bressler, Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Reick, Mr. and Mrs. George
Quinn, Mr. and Mrs. Claude

Mrs. Charles Forrette, secretary-treasurer.
