MADSEN Farm Editor, The Statesman It may be known as the Califor nia Ram Sale, the one scheduled for Scramento, Calif., for May 2 4, but Oregon will furnish about 60 per cent of the sheep to go on auction, according to the tale's catalog which is now being received by Orego-i sheep rais ers. The sale is being held jointly with the California Wool Show, the Far Western International Sheep Dog Trials, the Junior Sheep Shearing Contest Finals and the California Sheep Show at the California State Fair grqundfr. This ram sale, held for the past 33 years, has been known as one of the outstanding sales of its kind in the -veftern states and draws bidders from Mexico to Canada. It is sponsored by the California Wool Growers Associa tion of which Judge Frank Nor iega, widely known western sheep breeder, is president. Opens May 2 The Wool show opens Sunday, May 2 at 9 a.m. with the first an nual junior shearing contest fi nals at 1 p.m. that day, followed at 1:30 by the Far Western Inter national Sheep Dog trials. Judg es at the dog trials include James Harper, Amity; Ronald Hogg, Salem, as well as three California men, Wesley Wooden, Davis, and Homer Brown and Harold Taylor, both of Dixon. On Monday, May 3, the sale of blackface rams begins at 9:30 with the whiteface rams and ewes to go on the block Tuesday, May 4, at 9a.m. Final event on Tuesday afternoon is a special sale of rams and ewes for the convenience of small flock own ers, Future Farmers and 4-H Club boys and girls. 4 Sheep Breeders Oregon sheep breeders who axe offering animals in the sale include: Suffolks, Ahrens Bros., Gath Brothers, Turner; Broad mead Farms, Amity; J.
