visitors take the social jspotlight
during the post-holiday season
... Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Bradley
are being ' welcomed home from
a plane trip which took j them to
Haiti, stopping enroute; at Ja
maica and Cuba . 1 . The Brad-
leys i made their first stop in
Charlotte, I N. C. to Visit his
mother, Mrs. Augustus! Bradley
... To Haiti the travelers were
accompanied by .Mr. pradley's
sister, Miss Dorothy Bradley of
Charlotte . . they spent over a
ureck touring all parts of Haiti
. . ; even ! going to thel far side
f the Caribbean Island ltd visit a
native town, Jacmel; which is
reached only by car driving over
a river bed . . . when the water
is high the town is isolated...
The Bradleys enjoyed fishing in
the Caribbean and ! tookj one trip
out in a glass bottom boat ... a
highlight of their ! stay) at Haiti
was a trek up the mountains to
the famed citadel . . traveling
bv Diane and then by horse up
the steep I mountain to j the fort
ress .. . . i
A trio ". . . South of; the Bor
der Into Mexici for, Mr.; and Mrs.
Fred L. Rose1 and Mr. ;and Mrs.
Ott Yunker, who have returned
from a three weeks vacation trip
by car . . . The travelers drove
via the new Mexican! highway
900 miles south to Maratlan, a
seaport city, and to Guimas, a
fishing resort . . . there was rain
the entire trip all through the
' southern i states and j northern
Mexico ... H wasn't tintil they
reached Maratlan that the rains
ceased . . .they came Jhome via
Tucson and Las Vegas; planning
to stop for several days, but the
rains drove them on home ...
Vacationing ... on the Nevada
desert for a month orjmore are
Mr. and Mrs. R. D. jWoodrow,
who have been stopping at the
, El Rancho Vegas in Las Vegas . .
Returns home ... Mrs. Thom

back to the capital after a five
weeks' stay in Southern Califor
