sizes and wrapped in transparent

graded, homogenized, blended or
flavored and eggs by the dozen
are put into handy cartons that
can be torn in two for a half
dozen. ' ' :- ' r :

Real Job
To Keep
Up Stocks
Keeping fresh stocks moving to
the shelves of the new Emery
IGA Feodliner is as complicated
a job as being a production man
ager of a sizable factory. Co-ordinating
buyers in various fields
so there will be plenty of reserves
for unexpected demands, but no
overstocking that ties up storage
space and investment, is a job
requiring a fine sense . of what
will sell and how fast, store offi
cials point out, N-.j
Perishables always are the big
gest problem, for they must be
bought, moved, and sold in a hur
ry or the loss quickly eats op
profits. A temperature change
can influence housewifely meenu
planning rapidly. A bargain let
tuce buy may not look so good
when a cool snap switches plans
for sandwiches and tossed salads
to roasts and sliced tomatoes. ;
Of course, it all comes from
the grocery, "Pop" Emery con
fides, "but the grocer could be
left over-stocked with lettuce and-j
just run out of tomatoes.
The buyer,' though ,haj watch
ed the weather forecasts careful
ly so his batting average on
stockup up is far above the
break-even figure.
Staples that can be stored in
definitely are easy. Just keep the
backlog big enough and no wor
ries, ezxept storage space and
money outlay, both items being
things that can affect profits un
less careful planning keeps things
moving at the right pace.
'Witnesses' Win
High Court Case
In Philippines
MANILLA (JP) A local school
has been ordered by the Supreme
Court to admit 20 children it
had refused to enroll for two
years because they would not
salute the Philippine flag during
school ceremonies.
The pupils are members of
Jehova's Witnesses, a religious
sect which forbids its followers
to salute any flag.
The children's parents filed a
petition in court denying Com
munist or any other political af
filiation. They said they respect
ed the flag "not by ceremony,
but by actual obedience to the
laws it represents." L
