took another dump on the'lward
of trade . Monday, dropping : more
than 3 cents a bushel on selling
brought about by expansion of the
harvest movement ' i
Wheat closed 2 to S cents
lower, corn to 1 4 higher, oats
ahead to 1 Vi, rye unchanged to
1 cent lower, soybeans to
higher, and lard. 5 to 13 cents a
hundred pounds higher.
The first car of red wheat came
into the Chicago market Monday
from Southern Illinois. More are
reported to be on the way. The
harvest is expected to expand in
Couthern Illinois and Indiana ra
pidly. Since storage space is ex
tremely scarce, in this region,
much of the wheat Is expected to
be marketed.;

mon at the close. A few issues

Volume totaled 1,030,000 shares
up from 890,000 on Friday, the
smallest since Aug. 29, 1952.
The Associated Press average of
60 industrial stocks rose 60 cents
to $106.30.- The industrial average
was ahead 70 cents at $137.50, the
rail average up 70 cents at $86 and
the utility, average up 10 cents at
$50.90.

to said vacation, if any there be,
