20. The Rev. Joseph B. Neal of
St Francis Church, Roy, Oregon,
and old friend of the family, of
ficiating at the 10:30 o'clock
double ring ceremony and nup
tial high mass in St Mary's Ca
tholic church.
Altar boys were Jimmy Unger,
brother of the bride, and Ron
ald, Bob and Terry Orme, cou
sins. ,i,
Theij groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Alex McDonald of Esh
wood, Oregon.
Miss Helen Keber was organ
ist and St Mary's choir sang.
Gerald Nietling was soloist
The blonde bride walked down
the aisle on the arm of her fath
er, between pews marked with
white satin bows. Her bridal
gown was of white slipper satin,
fashioned with fitted bodice with
a deep U waistline and Victorian
neckline enhanced with Irish
lace. The court train fell from a
gathered skirt and was accented
by two deep tucks. Her finger
tip veil cascaded from a cloche
of net banded with satin caught
low on either side with clusters
of lilies-of-the-valley with tiny
pink-hued roses caught in the
white satin shower streamers.
She carried a bouquet of white
roses, carnations and stephanotis.
Precede the Bride
Four attendants in dresses of
pale yellow and green preceded
the bride. All wore gowns of or
gandy over taffeta, identically
styled with fitted bodice and full
gathered skirt bandeaux of mat
ching net and pearls and white
nylon gloves.
Miss Norma Jean Unger of
Portland, cousin of the bride, was
maid of honor and wore yellow,
carrying an arm bouquet of or
chid gladioluses. The bridesmaids
were Miss Donna Agnew, Cotton
wood, Idaho, and Mrs. Robert
Furrow, Portland, in green and
carrying yellow gladioluses. Kay
Marston, Ashwood, niece of the
groom, was uowergirL
The mother of the bride was
gowned in mauve lace over petal
pink taffeta and chose white and
pink accessories. The groom's
mother wore a blue dress with
black and white accessories. Each
wore an orchid corsage.
Tom Kasberger of The Dalles
stood with the groom as best man
and groomsman was -Ronald Mc
Donald, brother of the groom.
The ushers were Arnold, Billy
and Richard Unger, brothers of
the bride..
Luncheon la Garden
The reception followed im-
Jnediately at the home of the
bride's parents. A buffet lunch
eon was served to some 500
guests at tables arranged about
the .spacious lawns that surround
the - large,1 white colonial house
with its glass-covered patio.
Miss Elizabeth Unger, aunt of
the bride, cut the cake and pour
ing were Mrs. A. C Hoston, Mrs.
A. A. Ebner and Mrs. Frank
Bentley. The gift table was pre
sided over by Mrs. Margaret Or
me and Mrs. H. C Piatt and
Miss Joanne Bochsler passed the
- guest book. Serving : were the

ner, Phyllis Wolf, Elaine Annan
and Loretta and Rosalie Thomas.

At VFW Meet
SILVERTON Fifty hours of
community service by members
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars
Auxiliary was reported Wednes
day night by Mrs. Robert Edger
ton, auxiliary president Mrs.
Harry Walker, hospital chair
man, added that 37 hours of sew
ing had also been done by mem
bers, and asked for donations of
yarn and crochet thread for fur
ther work.
Mrs. Lewis Thomas, civilian de
fense chairman, reported that on
ly two radio stations would be
broadcasting in case of an air
raid, and Mrs. Frank Roemer,
youth activity chairman, report
ed the need for youth cards,
candles and children's books, for
the Children's home. She added
that committees would deliver
these if they were brought to
her.
Announced as delegates to the
state encampment at The Dalles,
June 24 to 27 inclusive were Mrs.
Edgerton, Mrs. Leland Morgan,
Mrs. Mark Wentzel, Mrs. Roemer,
and Mrs. Thomas..
Mrs. Edgerton reported the
next meeting of the auxiliary for
Wednesday night July 1.
