    Reduced Auto
Insurance St ill
State Insurance Commissioner
Robert Taylor said Wednesday
his office is still studying an ap
plication for lower automobile in
surance rates received earlier tnis
week from mutual insurance
companies in New York.
Unofficial report that the ap
plication 1 would be made came
out several weeks ago. Similar
reduction rates have been applied
for in several other states.
"We just got the information
from the mutual companies last
Monday, Taylor said. "It's very
complkated and will take us some
time to analyze it"
If approved by Taylor the rate
reductions would be:
A 25 per cent drop in premium
costs for cars driven for pleas
ure, less than 7,500 miles a year
and only by two adults, both at
least 25 years old.
Twenty per cent reduction for
family cars driven principally by
adults but with children permit
ted to drive up to 25 per cent
of the mileage.
Youthful drivers without fam
ily ties, however, would pay 30
per cent more.
