Matador Role
MEXICO CITY UTi Pat Me
Cormick. the girl bullfighter from
3 Paso, Tex., arrived in Mexico
City Wednesday with the announce
ment she wants to become a full
fledged "Matador de Toros."
Although she has fought and
killed some 20 bulls in Mexican
towns bordering the U.S., Pat is
still rated a novice in the sport.
The American, who insists that
clean living is a requisite of suc
cessful bullfighting, said she looks
forward to an "alternativa" in the
huge Plaza Mexico here.
The alternativa is a bullfighter's
first' appearance in a first class
event under the sponsorship of an
established figure in the sport.
The novice must first fight a no
villo, or young bull, before graduat
ing to the matador class.
"I train seven hours a day,"
said the slim, attractive American.
