Love, who died Sunday following an illness of the past two years, will be held Tuesday at 10:30 ajn. in the Hollingswood-Gwin Chapel in Newberg. The Rev. ':" Frank. Cunningham will officiate and interment, will be at Friends Cemetery in New berg, under direction of the Cl&ugh-Barrick Company. Love, a resident of 1595 N. 17th St. for the past two years, was born in Highgate, Mo., April 17, 1860, the son of Izaac and Mary Love. He moved to Montana at the age of 21 years and farmed there until moving to Hills boro in 1921. He married Mary E. Kin keade, Feb. 20, 1890, in Spring field, Mo., and she preceded him in death in 1942. He was a mem ber of the Christian Church at Newberg. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Inez E. Jones, Salem; a sis ter, Mrs. Mollie Satterfield and a brother-in-law, Charles Kinkeade, both of St. James, Mo., and a granddaughter of Salem. Proposed Bridge Over Columbia to Cost $11 Million The proposed new bridge to span the Columbia River between Portland and Vancouver, along side the present Interstate Bridge, will cost about 11 million dollars and will take from four to five years to plan, finance and build, according to the Washington and Oregon State Highway Commis sions which will plan the span. Both commissions are author ized to finance the bridge and maintain it by the issuance and sale of revenue bonds to be re tired by bridge tolls until the debt could be paid. At such a time the bridge would become toll free. At a recent meeting of the com missions it was proposed that the Oregon Commission prepare the plans and specifications and su pervise the consrtuction with the approval of the Washington group which would handle the bond sales. Rust-infected barberry bushes are the important source of stem rust in the northwestern states. The circular explains that from these bushes, the disease spreads to nearby grains and grasses dur ing May and June. The folder reviews how stem rust develops, how to identify the rust-spreading barberry, where it is found, and how weather affects stem, rust The circular emphasizes that barberry eradication is a cooper ative plant disease control project It is important to report locations of barberry bushes to the county extension agent Final Rites for Frank Marshall Wednesday Services for Frank P. Marshall, who died Saturday at a local hos pital following a short illness, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m, in the Clough-Barrick Chapel. Interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park. Marshall, resident of 3815 State St. and owner of Marshall's Inn at that address, is remembered for his local sports enthusiasm as well as his interest in the labor movement in Salem. As well as serving in such offices as presi dent of the Tavern Owners Asso ciation and trustee for the Amer ican Legion, Marshall was also a former city council member.
