derstone told 100 persons who at
tended "Ladies' Night" at the
Brotherhood of Trinity Lutheran
Church Tuesday.
Balderstone. Silverton's new
school superintendent, spoke on
what place the school has in teach
ing moral and spiritual values.
"We must accept the child as he
is and try to help him along as
far as he can go. We must not
blame him if he isn t like the next
one. He can't help It either," the
superintendent said.
He referred to the newer meth
ods of education, including visual
education, remarking ; that "What
the child sees at home is one of
the best means of visual educa
tion." Balderstone favored the week-day
Bible School, he said, because he
felt that "religion should be a part
of a child's everyday life not just
something he experiences during
Sundays.
The program. In charge of Har
old A. Larsen, included vocal solos
by Ted Rustvold, Woodburn and
readings by Otto Dahl.
