Recept
One of the larger affairs of the
weekend will be the golden wed
ding reception this afternoon at
the Masonic Temple in honor of
Mr. and Mr. Rex W. Davis. Their
friends have been invited to call
between . 3 and 6 o'clock, with
many coming from out-of-town

Arranging the affair are the
couple's son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Ward R. Davis, and
-their son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert S. Cosgrove
(Hester Davis) of Indio, Calif,
who arrived in the capital by
plane on Thursday. .
Greeting guests at the door will
be Martha and Jean Minto. Linda
Davis, only grandchild of the gol
denweds, will pass the guest book.

Roger Dasch at Church Rites ;
St. Paul's Episcopal Church was the scene of a beautiful wedding
on Saturday night when Miss Patricia Ann Wilson, only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kenneth Wilson, became the bride of Roger Nor
man Dasch, son oz Mrs. Helen L. Dasch. It was at 8 o'clock that the

erta Campbell, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. William R. Campbell of
Silverton, formerly of Salem, be
came the bride of Dale Arthur
Bates, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur
B. Bates.
The 8 o'clock rites were per
formed in the church parlor in the
presence of , members of the im
mediate families and a few
friends. Dr. Paul N. Poling offi
ciated at the nuptials before a set
ting of yellow and bronze chrys
anthemums flanked by white ta
pers. Ms. Ralph Dobbs was the
organist
For her wedding the bride
chose a gown of champagne lace
and a short veil, which was caught
to a satin cloche. She carried a
bouquet of Talisman roses.
Miss Betty J. Russell was the
bride's only attendant ' and she
wore a cinnamon brown lace
gown. Her flowers were pale yel
low roses, i
James B. Minturn served as best
man for Mr. Bates and seating the
guests was Richard H. H11L
A reception followed in the
prayer room. Mrs. Campbell wore
a chocolate brown lace gown zor
her daughter's wedding and Mrs.
Bates selected a erev lace sown.
Their corsages were of pink chry
santhemums.
Presiding at the coffee urns
were Mrs. Laura Eaton and Mrs.
Lottie Lewis. Mrs. A. L. McCaf-
ferty cut the bride's cake. Assist
ing were Mrs. Margaret Priest,
Mrs. Hazel Gregory and Mrs. Don
na Sawyer.
When the couple left on their
wedding trip the new Mrs. Bates
was wearing a grey suit with navy
blue accessories. After October 1
the newlyweds will be at home in
Salem at 1270 N. Winter St.
Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds Allen
entertained members of their
bridge club at' their Crestview
Drive home Thursday night. In the
group were Mr. and Mrs. Werner
Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Lauren Gale.

to Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hamann
of Turner on the birth tof a dau
ghter, Naomi Ruth, on Septem
ber 14. ' The little girl weighed
eight pounds, eight ounces. The
Hamanns are former residents of
the Hayes ville Community.
Mrs. Richard Smith will be
hostess to the West Salem Lions
Auxiliary Monday night at her
home, 1516 Elm Street. A dessert
supper will be served by the hos
tess at 7:30 p. m.

blue nylon net gown as she walk
ed down the center aisle on the
arm of her father. The ankle
length, dress was over matching
satin and the bodice was enhan
ced with a design of cream velvet
outlined in seed; pearls. The tiny,
bolero jacket was made with short
sleeves and she wore matching
mitts and shoes. The velvet design
on the gown was- repeated in the
headdress which held in place her
fingertip veil. She carried a cas
cade bouquet of lily-of-the-valley,

Attendants In Orchid :
Two attendants preceded the
bride to the altar. Mrs. Harvey
Loveall Jr. was the honor matron
and Mrs. Ben Reinecdus of Sweet
Home was the bridesmaid. They
wore identical frocks7- of orchid
nylon net over taffeta with fine
pleating adorning the bodices and
across the front of the skirts. They
wore shoes to match their dresses
and their pleated net headdresses
were caught at the sides with pink
flowers. They carried round bou
quets of pink Elfe roses and bou
vardia tied with blue net and rib
bon. H - '
William X. Hill stood with the
groom as best man and seating
the guests were;; Harry Russell,
Portland, and James Hollls.
Mrs. Wilson selected a slate
blue taffeta gown with a flower
headdress for her daughter's nup
tials. Mrs. Dasch' attended her
son's marriage in a powder blue
crepe-gown trimmed in grey. She
also wore flowers; in her hair.
Reception at Wilson Home -
The newlyweds greeted their
guests at a reception at the home
of the bride's parents on Fair-
mount HilL Presiding at the cof
fee urns were Mrs. Otto J. Wilson
Sr. and Mrs. Keith -Brown and
cutting the cake were Mrs. Ken
neth Bell and Mrs. Wolcott E.
