Both the state and the defense
have filed briefs in Oregon Sup
reme court in the case involving
Dr. George H. Buck, Portland, un
der five years sentence for man
slaughter in Portland.
Dr. Buck was accused of per
forming an abortion. Defense at
torneys were granted additional
time in which to file a reply brief
Date for hearing the appeal in the
supreme court will be announced
soon after the reply Js filed.
Dr. Buck appealed to the sup
reme court here from the circuit
court verdict.
JORDAN GETS U. S. AID
AMMAN, Jordan (P)-The Jor
danian government and the United
States Point Four Administration
have signed an agreement coverf
ing the development of Jordan's
water resources, irrigation and
pastures. The United States will
contribute $459,523 and Jordan
$107,265.
