Memorial Day Rites Due at Pioneer Church Statesman News Service GERVAIS Annual Memorial Day services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Pioneer Church, about four miles southeast of Ger vais. The Rev. Herman Goschie will seek re election. He was appointed last fall to fill the unexpired term of C. C. Parton who resigned after three months in office. Also seek ing this office will be Elvin Alm quist, building contractor, whose petitions were completed and signed Tuesday. Lloyd Larsen, board chairman who has served two terms, will not seek re-election. Angel ttaUsmsa Newt Service MT. ANGEL Poppy Chairman Dora Gores reported at the Legion Auxiliary meeting Tuesday night that $191 - had .been realized through the Memorial Poppy cam paign. Ten per cent of the amount will go to disabled veterans. The rest will be divided, half to be sent to department for care of veteran's families, the other half to remain here for use for needy veteran's children. President Ida Hoffer said the Auxiliary had been invited to take part in the veterans' march to the cemetery on Memorial Day in stead of joining them at the cem etery gates as has been customary of late years. The invitation was accented and it was also voted to have the Gold Star mothers ride in the parade. Mrs. Gores will drive the car. The next dance for married peo pie, Legion and Auxiliary mem bers will be held in the Legion Hall Friday night, June 6. Mrs. Clifford Norton reported she had been requested to have Mt. Schukar Is now home from the hospital where he was con fined a week. John McCauley was in the McMinnville hospital sev eral days under doctor's care. Roy Hubbard injured his hand last week in the woods. It was crushed while he was working. Mrs. Moses Miller underwent sur gery at the McMinnville hospital Monday. She reportedly has been very ill.
