AN FRANCISCO Corp. Robert Coronet, of Alhambra, Calif., and
his Oriental war bride Nobuko, 20. and their 5-raonth-old daughter,
Mary Ann, were aboard the transport USS Gen. W. A. Mann which
docked in San Francisco because the people of Alhambra wrote No
buko to convince her she would be welcome. Nobuko wanted to be
come a "Madame Butterfly' for fear no one would want her. The

discussion at the Business Men's
Club luncheon Monday noon, sev
eral members favoring publish
ing a new booklet describing the
town's features.
The discussion ended in a mo
tion that a committee be appoint
ed to consider the matter. Presi
dent Joe Wagner named the fol
lowing: Alois Keber, chairman,
Ed Stolle, Loretta Dehler, Joseph
L. Wachter and T. B. Endres.
Announcement was made that
shops would be closed on Memori
al Day.
Wilfred Verboort reported
Farmers Night a "great mccess".
He asked that a list of guests be
made to insure that other farm
ers be invited next year and that
Eiembers be penalized $2.50 for
ringing anyone that is not strict
1 a farmer.

installed the 1952-53 officers at
the P-TA meeting last week. Mrs.
Al Cokenour was installed as presi
dent; Mrs. Brad Humphrey, vice
president; Mrs. Albert Warby,
secretary; and! Mrs. Jack Gulli
ford .treasurer.-
Buying a dishwasher for the
school cafeteria; was discussed and
Mr. Rutherford, chairman of the
school lunch committee, was re
quested to meet with the school
board to discuss that possibility.
Refreshments were served by
the eighth grade mothers. The 4-H
fifth grade girls sang a number.
