Mrs. McAfee, 86, Succumbs: Rites Today Mrs. Sara Rovilla McAfee died Sunday at the age of 86 years at her residence in Salem Route 7. She had been in poor health for some time. Services are to be held today at the W. T. Rigdon Chapel, 1:30 p. m. with the Rev. Robert San ders officiating and interment at City View Cemetery. She was born Sarah Rovilla Na tion . in Chebanse, 111., May 4, 1866, and remained there until she married George McAfee at Cheb anse in April, 1888. Shortly after marrying they moved to Belville, Wis., and later Lto Dodgeville Wis., coming to Sa lem in reb., Her nusoana who had been a railroad station agent, died in 1928. Mrs. McAfee was the first pres ident of the Hayesville Woman's Club and took part in its forma tion 24 years ago. She also was a member of the Presbyterian : Church. ! The weary seafarers told the I Coast Guard they were plagued by foul weather throughout the 49-day cruise. They said the ! craft's wooden cockpit was ripped pff in nigh seas and they were soaked most of the time. The three were reported in good condition on their arrhal at Tillamook Bay. Trans-Pacific Sloop Arrives At Oregon Port SEATTLE iPi - The trans-Pacific, sloop No Name, for which trouble was feared at sea last week, really ran into it Monday after readying the safety of an Oregon port. The Coast Guard reported the ! vessel went aground at Tillamook I Bay. The trouble didn t last for long. A Coast Guard vessel soon pulled the No Name free. Fears were aroused for the sloop's safety last week because it was three weeks overdue at Seattle on a trip from Hawaii.
