Insurance
Bosses
The Insurance Women's Asso
ciation of Salem entertained their
bosses at a steak breakfast Wed
nesday morning in the mirror
room at the Hotel Marion. Seventy-eight
attended the break
fast. Welcome was given by Mrs.
Sidney Rising, president of the
group, and response to the Wel
come was by WilHam Braun,
president of the insurance agents
association of Salem.
Entertainment was provided in
the form of two skits. One the
"Fashion Show",.- hats modeled
by nine members of the group,
each one representing a different
form of Insurance coverage. Prizes
went to water damage coverage,
modeled by Mrs. Amy Seldier;
fur floater coverage, modeled by
Mrs. Opal Lewis; and personal
property floater modeled by Mrs.
Sua Booch. Commentator for ths
show was Mrs. Alma Werstleln
and the piano accompanist was
Miss Haxel Brockhoff.
The second skit was of an edu
cational nature, as the insuranee
women Just completed an educa
tional course on Insurance pro
cedures, which was conducted and
sponsored by the Agents Associa
tion of Salem. For "The Examina
tion" six members took part, five
were the pupils and one the teach
er. Special guests at the breakfast
was Mrs. Eva B rower from Port
land, regional director of Region
8.

as royal matron and patron.

Takes Bride
Announcement is being mad of
the marriage of Miss Grace Fos
dlck, daughter of Ralph 8. Tosdlck
of Bell, Calif- and Robert W. Bar
ton, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E.
Barton of Salem, which was quiet
ly performed on Saturday, April
19.
The couple exchanged their
vows before members of the im
mediate family at the Jason Lee
Methodist parsonage with the Rev.
James L. Wilson officiating.
For her wedding the bride chose
a navy blue lace afternoon gown
over satin with a white hat and
white accessories. She carried a
pastel nosegay of roses, sweet peas
and carnations. The couple was
unattended.
A reception for members of the
family followed at the home of the
groom's parents. The newly weds
will make their home In Salem.
The bride is a graduate of Cali
fornia schools and met her hus
band when he was stationed in the
South with tha marines. He is a
graduate of Salem schools and was
recently released from active duty.
He returned last summer from
service in Korea. He is now with
the Marion County surveyors.
The Salem Gateswingerp will
meet tonight at the Izaak Walton
clubhouse at 8 o'clock. Final
preparations will be made for the
state-wide Chery Blossom Dance
Festival to be held here on May
16 at the Armory.
