Vows Read
Four Corners In the sanctuary
before the altar of St. John's Luth
eran Church the marriage of Miss
LaJune Rahtz, daughter of Mr.
nd Mrs. William Rahtz, and Rhi
nehardt Behm was solemnized on
Sunday afternoon at four o'clock.
Reaiing the double ring ceremony
was the Rev. H. W. Gross.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, chose for her wedding
an eggshell taileur with pastel
green accessories, and carried a
white Bible marked with white
camellias.
Matron of honor for her sister
was Mrs. George Maske. Her suit
was cocoa brown gabardine with
brown and white accessories. Her
corsage was yellow roses and blue
snapdragons.
David Behm, brother of the
groom, was best man.
For her daughter's wedding Mrs.
Rahtz wore an aqua sharkskin suit
with white accessories. Her cor
sage was in gold and yellow spring
flowers. Mrs. David Behm's suit
was beige gabardine with green
accessories with a bronze azalea
corsage.
Following the church ceremony
a reception was held in the Four
Corners Community Hall. The
bride's table was covered with a
gold brocaded cloth with silver
candelabra and gold candles. White
baskets of dogwood and wild cur
rants Were' 'used- about the ' room.
Mrs. David Behm cut the cake.
Assisting with the serving were
the Misses : Mary Polales, Nancy
Taylor, Carpi McLeod, Betty Irea
key and Alice Lemman. Mrs. H. E.
i Dennis served the punch and Mrs.
E. J. Purcell, aunt of the bride,
presided at the urn. Passing the
guest book : was Miss D a V e e n
Behm, in charge of gifts was Miss
Shirley Brorkart.
After May first the newly weds
will be at home to their friends at
3925 State St., Tour Corners.
Mothers to Hear
Dr. Poling
The April meeting of the Y
Teen and Tri-Y Mothers' Club on
Thursday will feature Dr. Paul N.
Poling, pastor of the First Pres
byterian Church, as the speaker.
Dr. Poling is experienced in work
ing with youth .having taken part
in Young People's Conferences in
New Mexico and Arizona as well
as the National Conference of
Presbyterian Youth in Des Moines,
Iowa. His topic will be "The Ideal
ism of Youth."
During the business meeting the
nomination committee will pre
sent a slate for next year's of
ficers .Mrs Arthur L. Sliffe is
chairman of the committee which
includes Mrs. Edward Zahara and
Mrs. Chester A. Cummings.
The Mothers' Club meeting will
Helen Albrich
Tells Troth
Dr. and Mrs. J. E. Albrich are
announcing the engagement of
their daughter, Helen, to Walter
Van Handel,, son of Mr. and Mrs
George Van Handel of Stayton. No
date has been set for the wedding.
The news was first told to friends
during the Easter weekend.
Miss Albrich is a graduate of
Sacred Heart Academy and is now
employed at the Pacific Telephone
and Telegraph Co. Her fiance is a
graduate of Stayton High School
and is now employed in Reedsport.

Mrs. Justina Kildee, a past
president, installed new officers
of the Women's Relief Corps at a
meeting Friday night at the VFW
Hall. Mrs. Elsie Townsend pre
sided during the session.
Taking office were Mrs. Hattie
Robertson color bearer, and Mrs.
Lola Bockman, musician. The
patriotic instructor gave a talk on
the flag.

Visiting at the home of Mr. and
Mrs Wallace Guthrie, 3162 Fred
erlickson, is Mrs: Sue Abraham
sen, sister of Mrs. Guthrie, from
Bellingham, Washington. Mrs.
Guthrie and Mrs. Abrahamsen
will motor to Vancouver, Wash
ington today where Mrs. Abra
hamsen will be pinao soloist on
the noon luncheon program of the
Washingtfr and Oregon Music
Federated Clubs convention. Mrs.
Guthrie has not seen her sister
in Mveral years.
Banquet for
Co Club
The Co Club of the YWCA will
hold a baqquet tonight at the
Pine Inn at 7 o'clock. The af fan
is being given in connection with
the 5th National annual YWCA
week celebration. The theme for
the week is "On Your Own, But
Not Alone", which will also be
used for the banquet theme to
night. Miss Hattie Bratzel, Salem at
torney, will be the guest speaker
and will show colored slides of
Western Europe, which she film
ed while at the Nuernberg trials.
Mrs. Robert Laufle, president
of the club, will serve as toast
mistress. The committee in charge
includes Miss Bernice Ruettgers,
Miss June Dunn, Mrs. Robert
Brooks and Miss Joyce King.
