Jean i Clement. Dean Bunnell ; Wed Saturddy ." Bouquets of blue and pink pring flowers banked the altar of tke St. Joseph's Catholic Church Saturday afternoon for the marri age of Miss Jean Clement, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Norris D. Cle ment of Gresham, formerly of Sa lem, and Myrl Dean Bunnell, son of Mrs. Myrl C -Bunnell. Father John O'Callaghan officiated at the 2 o'clock nuptials. For her Redding the attractive bride chose a white frosted organ ra gown fashioned entrain and with a fitted bodice adorned with a Peter Pan collar. A bandeau of net held in place her fingertip length illusion veil and she carried a white prayer book marked with a white orchid. Miss Dorothy McCall was the honor maid and wore a pink or ganza ballerina frock and Miss Shirley Karsten, the bridesmaid, wore a blue organza ballerina dress. They were styled with full skirts, Peter Pan collars and short sleeves. They carried old fash ioned bouquets of pink carnations. Attend the Groom Myron Cavender stood with the groom as best man. Seating the guests were Robert and Richard Bunnell, brothers of the groom, Roger Hale and Lawrence Sulli van. Mrs. Clement chose a grey suit with white hat and white and black accessories for her - daugh ter's nuptials. She pinned a pur ple orchid to her ensemble. Mrs. Bunnell attended her son's marri age in a yellow suit with navy blue accessories and a bronze or chid corsage. The newlyweds greeted their guests at a reception at the Salem Woman's Clubhouse. Mrs. Henry Clement of Portland and Mrs. E. T. Barnett of Stockton, Calif., aunts of the bride, presided at the coffee urns and another aunt, Mrs. George LaBorde, cut the cake. As sisting were Mrs. T. Harold Tom linson, Mrs. Don Garrison, Miss Ann Carson, Miss Beverly Beakey, Miss Diane Perry, Miss Patricia Fitzsimmons and Miss Marjorie Becke. After a wedding trip along the Oregon coast the couple will be at home in Salem at 143 N. 18th St. For going away the bride changed to an off-white suit with navy blue accessories. Meeting Date Changed The Young Matrons Club will meet on Tuesday, April 22 at the Mayflower Hall at 8 o'clock. The meeting date has been changed and will be discussed during the business session. Cards will be in play and the committee includes Mrs. Ralph Moen, Mrs. Hubert Hansen and Mrs. Jean Mans an to. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Wenda and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. De Col leran. The couple will reside in Salem. (Artz Photography). Annual Concert Drive Begins The Salem Community Concert association is conducting its an nual membership drive beginning April 23. Requests for member ships may be directed to Mrs. R. D. no individual tickets are sold for the annual series. Bla ten ford. Headquarters are at the Portland General Electric of fice. A dinner meeting at Nohlgren's Monday night at 6:30 for officers and workers will open the drive. Membership in the association is closed at the end of the week, and no individual tickets are sold for the annual series. The Sigma will meet Monday night at the home of Mrs. John William Stortz. 1537 Strong Road, at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Thomas Gabri el and Mrs. Robert H. Anderson will be the assisting hostesses. A board meeting will precede at one o'clock. Dave Hoss, director of special events at KSLM, will be the guest speaker for the afternoon and the title of his talk is "Analysis of the Military as He Saw it in Europe." Piano duets will be given by Mrs. Harvey Gibbens and Mrs. Leon ard Goldblatt. During the business session, at which Mrs. Merle Travis will pre side, delegates will be elected to the Oregon Federation of Women's Clubs convention to be held in Portland April 30, May 1 and 2. Mrs. Albert C. Gragg will serve as tea chairman for the afternoon. There will be a special meeting of the board on Monday afternoon at the clubhouse at 2 o'clock for the purpose of preparing the bud get for the ensuing club year, 1952-53. Social Club Dessert Chadwick Chapter, Order of Eastern Star Social Club will meet at 1:15 Tuesday, April 22 for des sert and a brief business meeting. Tables of bridge, canasta and pin ochle will be played during the afternoon. The chairman of the hostess committee is Mrs. C. L. Blodgett. She will be assisted by Mrs. Claude Murphy, Mrs. Glen Paxson, Mrs. A. N. Copenhaver, Mrs. Donald Kuhn, Mrs. Ella Clay ton, Mrs. David Looney, Mrs. Ar nold Johnson, Mrs. Elmer Cook, Mrs. C. H. McClung, Mrs. M. C. Petteys and Mrs. Paul Griebenow, The Wednesday afternoon liter ature group of AAUW will be en tertained this week at the home of Mrs. Albert C. Gragg on North Capitol Street. A 1:15 dessert lun cheon will be served and Mrs. R. H. Brink will be the co-hostess. Mrs. Raymond Walsh will give the boook review. Mrs. Maisonto Be Honored At Tea One of the larger affairs of the spring season will be the tea for which Mrs. Thomas Edward Rilea will be hostess on Saturday after noon, May 3 at her home at Camp Withycombe, Clackamas. The af fair is being arranged in honor of Mrs. Harold G. Maison of Salem, wife of the commanding general of the 41st division of Oregon and Washington. A large group of friends from Portland, Salem and all parts of the state have been invited to call between 2 and 5 o'clock. In the receiving line will be Mrs. Rilea, Mrs. Maison, Mrs. Fred L. Wiegand, Beaverton, wife of Col onel Wiegand, chief of staff of the 41st division, Mrs. A. H. Hintz, Portland, wife of Colonel Hintz, commander of the Oregon Field Artillery, Mrs. G. P. Cochran, Portland, wife of Colonel Coch ran, commanding officer of the AAA, and Miss Betty-Coe Rilea, Clackamas, daughter of the host ess. Opening the door during the afternoon will be Misses Diane Emigh, Ann Berger, Patsy Sexton and Marjorie Olson, all of Salem. Mrs. Rilea has asked the following women to preside at the tea urns, Mrs. Douglas McKay and Mrs. Raymond F. Olson of Salem, Mrs. George A. White, Mrs. G. Robert Dodson, Mrs. William D. Overseas League To Celebrate Mrs. Jack F. Koenig, 240 Can dalaria Blvd., will be hostess Mon day evening at a covered dish din ner to celebrate the second birth day anniversary of the Salem Unit of the Women's Overseas Service League. Mrs. C .W. Enfield and Mrs. Robert Byrum will be co hostesses. A special guest will be Mrs. H. R. Anderson of Seattle, 10th service area vice-president, who will be the speaker. The Women's Overseas Service League is a na tional organization of women who served overseas in either World War I or World War II. Any el igible woman, who is interested in joining, is invited to contact the hostess, Mrs. Koenig.
