' , The calendar is filled with numerous informal parties during the coming -week, with teas, luncheons and at homes' on the agenda. f Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence. Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Erickson will be hosts for an informal party today at the former's Candalaria Heights home on Sunset Avenue. A large, group of friends have been bidden to call between 3 and 9 o'clock. Assisting the hosts will be Mr. and Mrs. James Payne, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Batter man, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin P. Armstrong, Mrs. Dorothy McClain and Mr. and Mrs. J. R Rentfro of Newberg, formerly of Salem. ; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Barr have invited guests to an informal at home this evening at their Fairmount Hill residence. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 o'clock. " Social highlight of the coming week will be the annual spring benefit tea to te given by members of the Salem Memorial Hospital Auxiliary on Friday afternoon at the lovely, mod ern home of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin E. Batterman in Morningside. The interested public and all auxiliary members are invited to attend and calling hours are from 2 to 5 o'clock. i As parking facilities are limited on the South 12th Street highway the auxiliary has arranged for a taxi service to transport guests to and from the tea. Cars will leave the hotel every half hour during the arternoon with Mrs. Ctto Skopil heading the taxi committee. Any one wishing to use the tax service is asKed to meet at the desk in the hotel lobby. Drivers for the cars will bo Mrs. Robert Brownell. Mrs. Woodson Bennett, Mrs. Robert ' K. Babcock, who is celebrating her 80th birthday, will be honored at an informal at home today when her two daughters, Mrs. Vern Shay and Mrs. Ame lia Jessup of Portland, entertain at the residence of their mother, 1355 State Street. She Is a mem ber of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Chadwick Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, of which she is a past matron, and Town and Gown.
