Monmouth Campiis Ready for:1 ' Visiting High School Seniors tt N.ws rre MONMOUTH A large croup of isitinf high school seniors are expected to attend the annual Senior Weekend Friday and Sat urday on the OCE campus. A program of campus visits, fun and entertainment has been ar ranged by a number of student committees. An assembly based on sports and other aspects of life at OCE will open the weekend entertainment Friday at 8 p.m. in Campbell Hall Auditorium. Later that night a "fireside' party will be held for the girls in Todd Hall and for the men in Ar nold Arms. Special entertainment, singing, skits and refreshment! will be offered the visiting sen iors. A morning assembly on Satur day will give the seniors an op portunity to find out about the more serious aspects of campus life, Including courses, types of preparation and other informa tion. Campus tours will follow, with a picnic lunch at 12:30 in the Grove. "I Remember When" is the theme for a general assembly about the social aspects of life at OCE, to be presented Saturday afternoon. Following dinner at 5:30 in Jes sica Todd Hall, there will be a motion picture in Campbell Hall Auditorium, and after the film a dance. The "Penny Serenade" dance will be sponsored by "Var sity O, men's athletic honorary here. Polio Strikes Mrs. C. Wills At Jefferson atate ii New Servfe JEFFERSON Mrs. Clayton Wills is In the Good Samaritan Hospital at CorvallLi with a light case of polio. She was in an Al bany hospital the first of the week and came home a few days before entering the Corvallis hos pital Wednesday. She hopes to be able to return home in a few days. Her husband is agriculture teacner in the high school here. The Jefferson Lions Club has voted to sponsor Cub Scouts here. All boys aged 8 to 10 are asked to attend a meeting at the City Hall Wednesday at 7:30 pm. bringing their parents with them. The dub also decided to hold a no-host supper on the third Wednesday night of each month. The Woman's Society of Chris tian Service met Wednesday with Mis. O. A Hall with Mrs. Ezra Hart assisting hostess. Thirteen members and four guests were present. A nominating committee, including Mrs. Helen Caywood, Mrs. Scott Hawk and Mrs. George Mason, was named. Mrs. Hawk led the lesson study. Guests were Mrs. Elizabeth Mann, Mrs. Wes Barnnss, Mrs. Russell Daulton and Evelyn Hall. The Woman's Society of World Service met Wednesday with Mrs. George Kihs with the Rev. Gene Kester and Mrs. John Kihs lead ing the lesson and devotions. Re ports of the recent convention were given by Mrs. John Kihs, Mrs. Karl Kihs. Mrs. William Lake, Mrs. Percy Wells and Anna Klampe. The women packed boxes of canned goods and two quilts to be given to a needy local family. Mrs. Fred Manus of Lynden. Wash., was a pre-Eastcr guest of her brother, Albert Meyers, and famil v. Joanne Lehman Wins Scholarship Statesman Newa Service DAYTON Joanne Lehman, Dayton Union High School senior, has been awarded the Leonard Hamilton Kerr Scholarship to Ore gon State College. Sponsoring group is the College Folk Club at Corvallis. Miss Lehman Is class valedic torian and, will deliver her ad dress at Dayton High School com mencement, slated for May 21. She is also the school's candidate for the Aaron Frank scholarship, winner of which will be announced soon.
