'; The president of the group, Mrs. James Phillips is also from Silver ton. Secretary is Mrs. Cecil Frum, Canby, a former Silverton teacher. The Immanuel Lutheran Church of Woodburn will be the host and the meetings will be h !d in the Methodist Church. Congregations to be present include those from Salem, Silverton, Monitor, Canby, Woodburn, Santa Clara, Eugene, Springfield, Albany and Lebanon. Christian education will be the featured topic. Mrs. R. Eline Kra abel, director of the School of "Nursing at Emanuel Hospital, Portland, Mrs. K. C. Egertson, Portland, will speak and the Cen tral Lutheran Guild, Eugene, will give a cradle roll demonstration. The evening session will be open to all organizations of the circuit and will be devoted to "Pension Ingathering" with Arthur Chris tenson, placement director of Lu theran Brotherhood as the speak- ! er. ! Registration for the all-day ses- 1 tory service was read by the. Rev. I sion will begin at '9:30 a.m. and 1 Atwood Foster, superintendent of the evening session will start at 7:30. Valley Obituaries Mrs. Lelia Stuart Statesman News Service EOLA Funeral services for Mrs. Lelia Stuart, 77, of Salem Route 6, will be Friday, April 18, at 2 p m. from Smith Mortuary in Independence. Interment will be In Fir Crest Cemetery at Mon mouth,: and the Rev. John Hood will officiate. Mrs. Stuart died at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born May 28, 1874, in Natural Dam, Ark. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. R. E. Morrison of Salem and Mrs. Jess Brasuell of Van Buren, Ark.; sisters, Mary and Edith Deffenbaugh and Mrs. Sam Cat trell, all of Natural Dam, Ark.; brothers, Eugene Deffenbaugh of Natural Dam and Ed Deffenbaugh of Van Buren, Ark.; seven grand children and four great-grandchildren. the Oregon District of the Assem blies of God. The firm was known as Wegman & Son tmtil 1947 when it was incorpo rated as Wegman & Co. In 1942, he was appointed as a member of the Portland Housing Authority. He was a member of Rotary, Arlington and Aero Clubs, of Waverly Country Club, the Port land Yacht Club, of the Masons and the Shrine. Wegman was the widower of the late Catherine Woodard. daughter of the late M. C. Woodard, man ager of the Silver Falls Lumber Company, Silverton. and Mrs. Woodard, who now lives in Port land. Survivors are the two daughters, Mrs. Herbert K. Williams Jr., El Cerito, Calif., and Mrs. Stephen S. Wilcox Jr.. at Longview.
