To gt th mot cih from your
forost crop requires lomt study.
For IbsUdco, a 11-inch tree, to feet

contains one 40-foot barklo (un

A 11-inch tree 100 feet tall con

$41.50 worth $10.10. In the same
tree la .! cords of pulpwood worth
$S.08, but the highest return comes
from a 55-foot barklo polo at 19

A little mistake la Judgment on
an acre of polos could cost hun

Th am loss can b sustained
from a poor Job of logging. Here
are some positive rules for logging
to protect your own best Interests.
Plan your roads before falling and
bucking. Pick your best season,
winter or summer. Mark every tree
to bo cut well in advance of cutting.
Insist on care when trees are being
felled so that a mlnumum of break
age occurs and Che least possible
damage is done to young trees.
Insist on your "cat" skinners being
careful with small trees left crow
lag for your next crop. Keep your
tumps low, because only you lose
