Oil Demands Push Stocks NEW YORK W-An eager de mand lor oils, with intensified em phasis on the Williston Basin group, dominated trading Friday in the stock market. Railroads, especially those with incomes from oil. were well ahead. The remainder of the market bare ly held steady. Lasses in no case were very pronounced. Northern Pacific, with vast land holdings in the Williston Basin of North Dakota and Montana, gained 5 at 83 Amerada Petroleum, veteran op erator in Williston, gained at 4 at 225. The Milwaukee Road was the day's most active stock, up 1 at 22 with 35,100 shares changing hands. The Associated Press Average of 60 stocks gained 40 cents at $100.70. It was boosted by a big gain of 61.50 in the railroad com ponent. Of that amount, 50 cents was accounted by Northern Pacific in the rail section.
