Grain Prices
Spiral Upward
CHICAGO (vP) - Grains spiraled
upward on the board ; of trade
Monday aided greatly by a buying
splurge in the last half hour. Until
then, corn and soybeans had
shown flashes of strength while
the rest of the list lagged.
It marked the sixth straight ad
vance for corn and oats, which
have recovered smartly after
sinking to lowest levels of the
year early last week.
Shortly before the close, March
soybeans hit $3.00 for the first
time since Feb. 18, but they eased
slightly from that point
Wheat closed -l'i higher, corn
IVi higher, oats Vt-lVt higher,
rye lV4-4i higher, soybeans Vi

a hundred pounds higher.

share as against $15.64 the previ

The Associated Press average of
60 stocks declined 80 cents, one
of sharpest drops in the past three
weeks, and closed at $99.90. Vol
