Miss Phyllis La Vaune Moore,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Moore of Independence, Rt. 1, and
Raymond C. Harden, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Clifford Harden of In
dependence, was solemnized at
eight o'clock Wednesday evening,
Feb. 6, at the home of the bride's
parents.
The double ring ceremony was
performed by the Rev. Walter
Nyberg.
The bride was dressed in a navy
blue stripe suit with red and navy
accessories and carried a corsage
of white orchids.
Best man was John Appleton
of Portland and Gary Mopre. bro
ther of the bride, lighted the ta
pers. At the reception which follow
ed the wedding the bride's cake
was cut by Mrs. P. B. Arthur,
grandmother of the bride. Pour
ing was the groom's aunt, Mrs.
Elmer Reynolds. Assisting were
Mrs. L. H. Ward, Mrs. William
Lawrence, Mrs. Donald Boyd,
Miss Floydene Moore and Miss

After a honeymoon in Califor

Silverton-Membero of the Mar
tha Circle of the Woman's Society
of Christian Service will hold
their February meeting, Feb. 14 at
Salem as guests of Mrs. T. R. Ho
bart, who with her family, moved
there last autumn. The group will
meet at the church here at 12:30
for transportation. Mrs. Hobart
was formerly president of the WS
CS at Silverton.

Salem Federated Music Clubs
will meet at the resident studio of
Frederick F. Wilson, 1531 Market
St., this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The
program will be presented by Mrs.
Dalbert Jepson, Pianist; Mrs. A.
A. Segersten, soprano, accompa
nied by Miss Alice Crary Brown;
and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Palmason

27th Birthday

afternoon when the Liberty Wom
an's Club met at the home of Mrs.
Harry Knepper on Hrubetz Drive,
in honor of the club's 27th anni
versary. The oldest pieces were the oth
er two samplers . of hand-made
linen shown by Mrs. Fred Brown
ing, one . 137, and the other 150
years old, also a handmade em
broidered eyelet. Mrs. Roland See
ger showed an antique from Eng
land which is about 125 years old.
Mrs. S. B. Davidson exhibited a
102 year old Bible.
Mrs. Clarence Griff is showed a
wedding ring made from the gold
which her grandfather dug during
the gold rush in 1849. Mrs. Wil
liam Hall had a pen knife more
than 100 years old. Mrs. Ralph
Coie showed a black shawl of taf
fetascalloped in lace and trim
med in beads which was 100 years
old. Mrs. Francis McLaughlin
brought two of her old dresses,
one her wedding dress and anoth
er of black satin and velvet. Mrs.
Roland Seeger modeled her mother-in-law's
wedding dress of gray
taffeta. Mrs. Louis Kurth showed
a bolero made of linen in Ger
many about 75 years old. Mrs.
Harold Rosebraugh showed a
sherbet made in 1856, and told of

Two large fir trees in front of the
Liberty School, were given by the
Woman's Club 18 years ago and
the club named a committee to see
about a marker for these trees.
On the committee are Mrs. Roland
Seeger, chairman, Mrs. Addle Free
and Mrs. Fred Browning, char
ter member of the club.
The Mothers Club will hold, a
panel discussion : oq Feb. 21, at
7:45, at the school.

program chairman and the assist
ant hostesses were Mrs. S. B. Da
vidson and Mrs. Don Griffith.
Dr. Deaa Brooks, assistant ra
pe rintendent of the Oregon State
Hospital, will speak on "Psychol
ogy of Child Behaviour" at the
meeting of the Bush School Moth
ers Club on Tuesday night at the
school auditorium at 8 o'clock.
The fathers are being invited as
special guests. A social hour will
follow the meeting.
