for Trinity chapter, Order of East
ern Star were held Saturday night
at the West Salem city Hall. Mrs.
Carl Anthony and J. Bothwell
Avison were installed as worthy
matron and patron.

Oregon, was the Installing officer,
assisted by Jason Frizzell, grand

Verdi Walser, worthy patron,
Chadwick chapter, gave a violin
solo and was accompanied by Mrs.
Walser. Mrs. Ivan Stewart accom
panied by Mrs. Larry Flagg sang
and Edith Fairham Gunnar sang
accompanied by Miss Amy Girod.
A silver gavel from the matron's
home chapter in Lima, Ohio, was
presented by Mrs. Jason Frizell,
representing Trinity chapter,
Lima, Ohio.
Guests for the installation were
Rex Hartly, past grand patron,
grand chapter of Oregon; Herman
Johnson, grand officer, budget
committee; Mrs. Rex Hartley,
grand representative to Ontario;
Mrs. Carl Wiper, worthy matron,
Chadwick chapter.

HAYESVILLE The parents of
the Rev. Robert E. Sanders, ! Mr.
and Mrs. J. N. Sanders, of Spo
kane, Wash., will spend the Christ
mas holidays with the Rev. Mr.
Sanders and his family.
The Rev. Robert E. Sanders,
who attended the Youth for Christ
conference in Yakima recently,
has been appointed the Youth for
Christ director for the Salem area.
He has announced that rallies
shall be scheduled for the first
and third Saturday evenings in
each month.
The first rally will be held Jan
uary 5, in the Bush school audi
torium, at 7:45 p.m. The speaker
will be Dr. Louis Lehman, from
Portland, who will bring his radio
singers to sing and play musical
numbers. Approximately thirty
five churches will be cooperating
in this city-wide youth effort;

mentioned.
The program Included piano
solos by Ann Kaufman. The Asso
ciated Club will sponsor a ham
dinner on Friday, January 1L.
The Woman'a Bible class ef the
First Methodist church will hold a
party on Friday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Merlin Estep, 805
E street, at 2 o'clock. Mrs. James
W. Taylor win lead the devotions.
