On Etiquette
By Roberta Las
Q. What is the proper sequence
in a social letter?
A. It is correct to. write 'on the
first page, and then on the third,
or on the first, second, third and
fourth. The latter order is prob
ably the better in the case of very
long letters, as it avoids confusion.
Never write sideways or cross
vise, as it leads to difficulty in
reading.
Q. How much time Is the bride
properly expected to spend with
her guests at the wedding recep
tion? A. Not mora than two hours.
She may then retire to her room
with the maid-of-honor to change
into her traveling costume.
Q. Is it correct to serve a des
sert with the silver on the plate?
A. Yes.
