Generally, the menu will be the same as the troops had on Thanksgiving day and will vary only slightly in different area Army cooks will prepare the din ner from a master menu set up here by the Quartermaster Corps last August. Zone of the In terior, or the United States prop er: Breakfast Chilled fresh froz en orange juice.' ready-to-eat cereal, fresh milk, scrambled eggs, jam, toast and butter, cof fee, r Dinner (mid-day) Celery hearts, stuffed olives, sweet pic kles, spiced tomato juice cock tail, roast turkey,1 giblet gravy, celery dressing, cranberry sauce, whipped potatoes,1 glazed sweet potatoes, buttered green beans, lettuce wedges with Thousand Island dressing, Parker House rolls with jam and butter, hot mince meat pie, fruit cake, cof fee, ice cream, tangerines, - gra pes, mixed salted nuts, assorted can dies. - Supper Turkey rice soup, crackers, assorted cold cuts, as sorted cheese, hot potato salad, chopped onion and green pepper salad, rye bread, butter, chilled pears, coffee. In the Eastern Command, in cluding Japan and-Korea, t he menu will be much the same; ex cept that grilled bacon and hot . biscuits will be served for break fast; a shrimp cocktail, fresh frozen buttered corn and lima . beans will be added to the din ner, and there will be no soup for supper. Turkey stuffing will be spicier and there will be fruit punch. Menus in the European Com mand will be about the same as those in ZI and the Eastern Com mand with "the exception of dif ferent vegetables. Here's the recipe for that poul try stuffing they will use in the Eastern Command, the portions calculated on the basis of 100 men: 5 pounds celery, 10 pounds white bread, 5 pounds onions, 3 ounces of poultry seasoning, 6 No. 1 cans evaporated milk, 25 ounces of dehydrated eggs and 2 pounds lard. With the exception of desserts, the boys are getting pretty much what they favor most in the way of food as determined by exten sive tests being conducted throughout the service. Turkey, and pot roast with brown gravy are popular in the meat line. Fresh milk is top drink. Green beans, canned, frozen or fresh, are the favorite vegetable, and banana cream and lemon me ringue pie are the favorite desserts.
