Scott, 90, retired farmer who had lived in this area since 1939, died Tuesday, night at his home near Donald after a short illness. He was born in Osage, Mo Sept. 30, 1881, and lived there an in Dodge City, Kans., until he come to Oregon 12 years ago. He has lived near Donald since then. His widow, the former Minerva Case beer, preceded him in death in August. 1939. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Pearl McMillan of Donald, three sons, Thomas 1 A. Scott of Donald, Lester Scott, of Salem, and Robert A. Scott, Beaumont, Tex.; 22 grandchildren, ' and 23 great grandchildren. , Services will be at 2 d. m. Fri day, November 9 at the Miller Funeral home in Aurora. Inter ment in City View cemetery, Sa lem. 2 Portlanders Charged with Tax Fraud i PORTLAND,, Nov. 7-W-Tax fraud charges against two Port landers stem from records at three Portland clubs which used to have slot machines, Hugh Earle, inter nal revenue-collector, said today. Earle named them as the Mult nomah Athletic club, the Aero club and the Portland Golf club. He said their books, opened to in vestigators, showed a percentage of the slot machines' take went to Lester T. Beckman and Robert B. Allan. . Beckman and Allan are under indictment, charged with failure to pay full taxes in 1945 and 1946. The charge against Beckman lists $81,718 as the amount owed. Al lan's is $75,903. The government filed tax liens against the two men last April for back taxes, penalty and interest totaling about $1,000,000.
