To Head X-Ray
One Today

Some of Oregon's top officials
will be among the first in line to
day when the Willamette Valley
Chest X-ray survey gets under
way. Five X-ray units win be in
operation throughout Marlon and
Polk county for the month-long
survey. - .
Two of the Salem units will be
located today near the state capi-
tol to accommodate state work
ers. One will be at . State and
Waverly streets, where at 9 ajn.
Secretary of State Earl T. Newbry
and State Treasurer I Walter .J.
Pearson will be among the first
to face the X-ray machines.
The unit will remain open until
S pjn. It will be at the Salem lo
cation Thursday and Friday from
8:30 ajn. to 5 pjn with the ex
ception of the noon hour.
The second capitol area unit
will be located today at Waverly
and Court streets, where Chief
Justice James T. Brand and other
members of the state .supreme
court will be X-rayed. The unit
will be open from 9 a jr. to 5 pan.

Mrs. Ollie B. Swlgart, resident
of Salem for the past 28 years.
died Tuesday at a local hospital
after an illness of two years. She
was 84 years old.
Born in Franklin county, Ohio,
July 5, 1867, she moved to .Mis
souri with her family while still
a young child. She was married
there to Louis A. SwigarL who
died four years ago. The couple
came to Salem in 1925. She had
resided recently at 1142 7th sV
Mrs. Swigart was a member of
the Christian church. .
Surviving are three daughters.
