Korean War
Returning to the United States
today alter nine months in a
paratrooper commando squadron
in Korea, Is Sgt Fred Sexton, 22,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C
Sexton, route 8, box 14.
Sergeant Sexton is one of 12
Oregon soldiers docking this
morning in San Francisco aboard
Woodford. Others from" the mid
valley area include Sgt. Albert C
Lilly, 305 Lillys lane, Corvallis,
and Sgt. Lester M. Crocker, 1415
E. 3rd ave, Albany. The trans
port arrives with 384 soldies all
returning from Korea on the army
rotation plan.
A rifleman in the 187th air
borne division. Sergeant Sexton
arrived in Korea in September,
1950. He-enlisted in the army in
July, 1948, and took basic train
ing at Camp Campbell, Ky, and
advanced training in Japan.
His 30-day furlough will be the
first visit with his parents since
March, 1949, when he went over
seas. " -"

school until his enlistment in 1948.
He has one! brother in the merchant-'marine,
and another who
recently enlisted in the air force.
His parents expect him to be
sent either to Camp Campbell or
to Fort Breckenridge, Ky, after
his furloughs He will complete his
enlistment period in July.

didn't stop. Key gave chase, caught
the other man at the next inter
section and had him pinned to the
ground with a "Boston crab hold"
