Turner' Recital
To Be. Tonight
The annual observance of the
Iva F. Turner Memorial will be a
recital by music students tonight
at 7 o'clock at music hall on Will
amette university campus. Awards
- from the Salem Music Teachers as
sociation, Salem Business and Pro
fessional Women's club and the
Iva F. Turner fund will be made.
Stacey Green of the University
of Oregon, Mildred Waldron of the
school of music, Multnomah Col
lege, and Mrs. Henri Arcand, Port
land pianist, will be adjudicators.
A small admission charge will be
made for visitors.

! A surprise to the couple's many
friends is the announcement of the
engagement of Miss Jodelle Parker
to William L. Craycroft, which was
revealed at' a party Friday night
at the home 2 of the bride-elect's
parents Mr. and Mrs. Virgil L.
Parker. No date has been set lor
the wedding. ? J j .
i Miss Parker is a graduate 'of
Salem high school and is a junior
on the Willamette university cam
pus, majoring in music education.
She is a member of Mu Phi Epsi
lon, national music honorary, and
Alpha Lambda Delta, scholastic
honorary! Her fiance is the son
of Mr. arid Mrs. William H. Cray
croft of Salem and a graduate of
Salem schools. He is now attend
ing school in San Diego, where he
is stationed with the United States
Navy after having served aboard
the USS ;Noble, which was in the
Korean war zone and the Far East
for morejthan eight months,

Noble. Concealed in the napkins,

small life boats, were cards bear
