Elsinore 25th Anniversary Tonight; 4 Valued Paintings Brought for Event I 'i -i V. Palmason Named Head Of SHS Band Victor Palmason, Salem high school orchestra director, will also conduct the high school band next year, it was announced Thursday by Frank B. Bennett, superintend ent of schools. It will be the first time in. recent years that band and orchestra have been under the same director. The assignment was made following school board hiring of Mrs." Grace Ericksen, Albany teacher, to head the instrumental music program in "West Salem junior high and the Salem district elementary schools. The music shift follows the ear lier resignation of E. Donald Jes sop as high school band director. Palmason has conducted the or chestra since coming to Salem schools five years ago. He previ ously taught nrusic in Aberdeen , schools, has a bachelor of music decree from University of Wash ington and "a master's from Port land university.
