Front sL ' Police said autos driven by the two collided at Broadway and Fine streets about 1:15 ajn. Cow en's car, smashed on the right side, rolled onto the lawn of a residen tial lot. The accident dazed both drivers. Cowen crawled from his car 'and was taken to Salem Memorial hospital. He suffered - fractured ribs and possible internal Injuries. His condition Friday night was termed 'fairly good." M Officers said Brown was taken to a friend's house by an acquain tance who was following in anoth er car. He later was removed to Salem General hospital where his condition was termed "good.' He incurred cuts and bruises. Police said no charges were filed.
