YW Board Plans Several Events Flans for the traditional Smor g asboard dinner were made at the meetinf of the board of directors it the YWCA on Tuesday morn lngv According to Lira. A. A. Schramm, president, the YM-YW cooperative benefit for World Fel lowship la scheduled for Wednes day. November 2 at the YMCA. A festival of nations exhibit and a program of continuous entertain ment during the dinner will be featured. - Mrs. Q. Herbert Smith and Mrs Carlton Greider. both new mem bers of the board, will assist the staff with their plans far the f trifng of the greens on Decem ber 14. This program Is also tradi tional with the YWCA and con sists of decorating the house at the beginning of the Christmas season and a program of dedication. Miss Gertrude Acheson, execu tive director, told the members of the board that the number of for eign born in Salem wishing Eng lish classes has grown large enough to demand three groups. These classes are free to the many new citizens needing education and fri endship. There was also a request for m new Y-teen club in West Sa lem. An electoral meeting will take the place of the next regular meet ing of the board on December 1L. All YWCA members will be invit ed for morning coffee at which time certain constitutional matters will be discussed and plans, for the new building will be on display.
